Verdict

Tiny Tim has leading claims against today's opposition, the best of whom appear to be the likes of Self Belief and Star Lad. Horses drawn high over today's course and distance boast a 50 per cent strike-rate over the past 12 months, and so the fact that he is housed in box 13 augurs well for Tiny Tim, who has threatened to return to the winner's enclosure in both starts this year. Second over the course and distance in amateur company on his return to the fray, Andrew Balding's gelding so nearly went one better when beaten a head by Arctic Burst at Lingfield eight days ago, and with the same apprentice on board again, hopes are high that he can make amends. Star Lad, ridden by the in-form Shane Kelly, has previous course and distance form to his credit and should appreciate the step back up in trip after finishing fourth in similar grade at Wolverhampton. He can give the selection most to do along with Self belief who found only the odds-on Ba Clubman too strong over seven furlongs here a week ago. That was in claiming company though and he has a bit more to do, albeit not too much. Preference is for Tiny Tim who should take all the beating.
