In depth

Verdict

STARS IN THE NIGHT (NAP) has returned to action in fine form. Kevin Ryan’s filly shrugged off a penalty for an earlier course and distance success when scoring easily at Newcastle and an apprentice’s allowance negates the 5lb extra she carries today. The consistent Scale Force should be in the mix once again having won at Wolverhampton last time but Canford Bay came up short when favourite at Ripon last week. Doc Sportello has been winning plating races this year but Fine Wine is preferred on only her second outing for Scott Dixon’s local yard.
