In depth

Verdict

The veteran Duke Of Firenze has won twice on the all-weather this year and is 7lb lower than when last successful on Turf. He appears to hold Recon Mission on recent Lingfield running but SPOOF is half his age and was in fine form at the end of last summer. He can be forgiven his run on Tapeta in December and gets the nod ahead of Militia, who was also in good form last summer and represents the northern sprint king Paul Midgley. The 2019 runner-up Dark Shot and Green Power, now blinkered, have a bit to prove at present.
