    Verdict

Hows That is selected to get the losses back, with Bogaz and Melvino seen as two big dangers. Hows that was a progressive enough juvenile, scoring at Newcastle and here at Southwell last year. Successful in similar company over the course and distance in January, he failed to give his true showing at Wolverhampton last time, but still finished a fair third. Back on the fibresand and dropped back in trip again, he will make a bold bid to get the losses back. Bogaz won twice here last year, but his only outing so far in 2005 has been in a handicap at Lingfield. He will be fitter for the run and will go on the fibresand. Melvino has had three tries in better company on the Lingfield Polytrack up to now, and was favourite last time out. He hung badly though when down the field behind Chief Dipper, so maybe the drop to this level and change of underfoot terrain will bring about improvement. Trainer Karl Burke has a good record here though, and it is Hows That who is the pick.
