    In depth

    Verdict

This is a very uninspiring contest in which only a small vote goes to Tommytyler ahead of Waltzing Wizard and Haunt The Zoo, with the market best watched for the remainder. Tommytyler may still be a maiden but he has been placed three times on this track, including when third to Shifty last time. That form actually looks quite good in the context of this race as the runner-up Sir Bond went on to score here on Tuesday. With that in mind, he must go close and is preferred to Waltzing Wizard, a course and distance winner in December. He lost his chance at the start at Wolverhampton last time but should give the selection most to do back on this track. Haunt The Zoo has a similar chance to Tommytyler on a line through Shifty, but is an old-stager now and is passed over, while Vrisaki is adept at this level but needs to show more than last time. It is not an event to get too involved in by any stretch of the imagination, and just a small wager on Tommytyler is recommended.
