In depth

Verdict

Robert Winston, Karl Burke and Vancouver Gold make a solid team for the seller. They may have the most to fear from King Forever and the talented but frustrating Scotty's Future, who is now back for another spell with David Nicholls. The last named has been around the houses since Nicholls coaxed a Victoria Cup out of him in May 2002 and has been a hard horse to predict. However, he is now 21lb lower in the ratings and he is in the right hands to be placed to good effect when the Flat turf season comes around. Bear him in mind for future reference - you have been warned! King Forever has shown flashes that give him claims in a weak race like this and, as he doesn't have too many miles on the clock, it will not be surprising to see him make a bold bid now that he has experience of the track. However, Vancouver Gold is holding her form well at present and, with Winston doing the steering, she is fancied to gain compensation for some near misses of late.
