In depth

Verdict

Sky Masterson gets the vote over Aegis, with Ninetyninetreble best of the remainder. Most of John Gosden's team seem to improve markedly after a run or two, and that augurs well for the chances of Sky Masterson who is having his third career outing today. The American-bred gelding was sixth in the Wood Ditton at Newmarket on his debut but failed to build on that when finding one too good on his first visit here a fortnight ago. However, time may tell that he came up against a decent sort in the winner Danetime Panther, and he should be good enough to make amends. On a line through Wood Ditton also-ran Natural Action, Aegis has it to do with the selection, and is already becoming frustrating to follow. He will probably be placed here though, with Ninetyninetreble best of the rest, having shaped well in two starts to date. This does look good for Sky Masterson though, and he gets a fairly confident vote.
