In depth

Verdict

Off The Record showed some promise on his Nottingham debut last month and James Given's colt has to be respected on his all-weather debut but he may not represent much in the way of value and preference is for Grange Lili, who is taken to gain an overdue success and score at the main expense of Mangano. It says much for the weakness of this contest that a gelding that has been well held on all three starts so far can be given a chance but this is not a particularly good event and Alan Berry's gelding certainly has place claims. Pretty Selma is open to improvement after just one start but she would need to step up on what she showed at Wolverhampton to trouble the judge, while Wibbadune looks the second string of Peter Grayson's two runners behind the selection. Grange Lili has had plenty of chances but has solid claims on the pick of her form and may have been found a suitably soft contest to open her account.
