In depth

Verdict

Channel Crossing, Justcallmehandsome and Ming Vase are the three against the field here in an open affair and Channel Crossing is the selection. A winner at Kempton in April, Justcallmehandsome ran his best race since when finishing a good third at Sandown last time doing all his best work at the finish. He is stepped up three furlongs in trip here though and his ability to see out the extra distance has to be taken on trust. Ming Vase won at Nottingham in July and has run consistently since. He is a consistent performer at this level but is another for whom the trip is a problem as he has yet to race over this distance. Channel Crossing ran the best race of his career to date when chasing home the gambled on Princess of Aeneas at Musselburgh last time. Although that was only a claimer, he will be at home over this trip and may just have the edge over his rivals here. Channel Crossing can lead them home.
