Verdict

DAIS RETURN is the selection in the feature with Englishtown and Tubber Gael Holly the others to make our shortlist. Peter Bowen's charge is a fast ground specialist and provided that the rain stays away, he looks capable of further improvement in spite of the attentions of the handicapper. Englishtown won well on bottomless going at Worcester. He has ran in much better races than this in the past but there has to be a question as to whether he is not a little high in the handicap at present. Tubber Gael Holly has to race from a 10lb higher mark than she would have to in Ireland. Nevertheless, Michael Hourigan has elected to take the engagement with his fast ground mare and it will be fascinating to see how the market reacts. Downing Street has been kept on the flat in an effort to keep his present handicap mark in check. Pepporoni Pete has been a difficult horse to keep sound but he does not lack for effort and he could have place claims if running to his best. Kempley Green has dropped a couple of pounds down the weights. Come Out Firing has been a credit to connections and it would be a brave man that suggested that he were incapable of posting a fifth victory of the summer. A race where many have obvious chances on the formbook but for the winner, we return to Dais Return.
