In depth

Verdict

Not a particularly appealing chase that can go to HOUSE OF BOURBON with Snake Rave and The Lad Next Door offered up as others of note. A smart hurdler on his day, House Of Bourbon stays this trip but his jumping went to pieces at Hereford. The fences at this circuit are some of the easiest in the country and while mistakes will be punished, a failure to complete the task here will see him back to hurdles. Snake Rave has won readily in two recent point-to-points and is clearly in good heart on his return to racing under rules. The Lad Next Door is a fascinating runner. A winner of an Irish point; his first effort under rules was under a much shorter trip and that can safely be ignored. Snake Hips looked exposed over hurdles so the change to the larger obstacles seemed academic. Pintown Cuckoo won his latest start at Ballingarry and should be fit enough to do himself justice. Fencote Mystery and Murphys Beau represent yards that have good records at this track but it would be disappointing were there not something better amongst the relative newcomers. House Of Bourbon is the pick.
