Verdict

Another competitive event and Gone 'N' Dunnett seals the selection ahead of Pauvic and Winthorpe. The selection has a poor draw to work from but he has at least shown some sparkle of late and in a race where positive form is thin on the ground, at the likely odds, he could be worth a speculative wager. Pauvic has ran lamentably of late but a perusal at his back class suggests that it might be silly to write him off just yet. Winthorpe would have made much more appeal had his yard been in better form. That said, there was nothing wrong with his recent run at Wolverhampton. Bentley seems to have lost the plot and is best watched at present. Fern House is less exposed than most on artifical surfaces while Blakeshall Quest is something of a course specialist over this trip. Spy Gun has been at big odds on all his recent starts. A competitive if not ordinary sprint and Gone 'N' Dunnett rates as only the most token of picks.
