In a wide open claimer Ruffie is given a narrow vote ahead of Opera Writer and Welcome Releaf. Gay Kellaway's charge, a winner at Wolverhampton in December, has put in two solid efforts at the same track this season. She finished second in a handicap before going close in a similar race to this. She should be spot on following those efforts and looks the one to be on. Opera Writer drops into claiming company for the first time following sound efforts in maidens and handicaps. He was rated as high as 75 last season so has obvious form claims. Welcome Releaf has also been running in better company this campaign and comes into the argument on the pick of last year's efforts. The pick of the remainder could be Grafton, but Ruffie does appear to be on an upward curve and this one is taken to land first prize.
