DAURICA, after being given a break, can overcome the challenge of Mohawk Star and Mizen Raven in a tricky affair. Mizen Raven has been campaigned over fences recently, and has run well, but on more than one occasion has been found wanting for pace and under a hefty weight is opposed here. Mohawk Star was quick enough to win twice on the Flat, and recent hurdling efforts have suggested that a second hurdling win is not out of the question. However, one win in over 20 attempts over hurdles suggests he can be taken on. Daurica makes her handicap debut after an emphatic success over the course and distance. She is lightly raced, progressive, and at the right end of the handicap. Daurica can make a winning return.
