If SHADOWS LENGTHEN reappears having won here on Saturday then he simply must be sided with once more ahead of General Tufto and Boundless Prospect. Mick Easterby's unexposed gelding defied a 7lb rise to score here by some nine lengths last time and under a mandatory penalty today will take some stopping in search of the four-timer, with the bloodless nature of that success adding confidence to the belief that the horse can cope with a busy schedule. Should the likely favourite disappoint then perhaps course specialist General Tufto might emerge best of the rest. This one has had plenty of racing but was freshened up by connections prior to a solid run here last time and as the horse has won here this year off higher marks it would be folly to omit the mount of Kirsty Milczarek. Boundless Prospect also goes well here and so he can get the better of the less exposed Moscow Oznick for third. The last-named remains a maiden after 12 starts but has looked progressive and would be a threat to all if acting on the surface. Venir Rouge looks well treated on the pick of his turf efforts but is inconsistent and has questions to answer, as does Eightdaysaweek although that one at least has Southwell form having scored of just 2lbs lower in August. They could all be playing for second here if Shadows Lengthen arrives in similar form to last time and he rates the confident pick.
