KINIGI is in top form and is taken to defy her 7lb penalty at the main expense of recent winners Captain Kallis, Top Flight Splash, Monte Mayor Eagle and Miss Xu Xia. Ron Harris has his horses in good nick this winter and his Verglas filly has now won her two starts at the track, both over this course and distance. Although victory has come via a photo finish, she can find the desired improvement to shrug off this 7lb penalty. Also proven on the track is Captain Kallis, who showed good resolution when winning here over six furlongs in November; like many of Captain Rio's progeny he seems to enjoy this surface. Rio Cobolo has improved for the fitting of the visor but is another with stamina to prove, Miss Xu Xia's recent win came in a lowly seller, whilst Le Petit Vigier's form figures suggest a win is imminent. Both Top Flight Splash and Monte Mayor Eagle both bring winning course form to the table, making it a very tricky puzzle to solve.
