Verdict

Gandolfini won this a year ago from 4lb lower and has been in good form on his last two starts. However, it looks much tougher this year with several coming into the event in top form including Galway winner IRON MAJOR, who will again be reunited with Johnny Murtagh who rode him expertly at the Festival. He can complete a hat-trick though the lightly raced Anderiego is capable of better than he showed over 7f at the Curragh and the three-year-old Brazilian Breeze stayed on strongly to land a 5f Tipperary maiden and this is more her trip. Maarek is another who found the minimum too sharp last time though he may still be a few pounds high in the weights.
