Verdict

If CHESTNUT BEN can repeat the form he showed at Newton Abbot then this race may be his for the taking. Connections were called in front of the stewards after he'd scored from 25lbs out of the weights that day and reported that he'd improved for a knee operation and a lengthy break, so there's reason to hope he's simply a different proposition now. If that's the case he should be winning now racing off his correct mark and we're prepared to take the chance. Should he blow out then Desert Soul could take advantage. He arrives with a consistent profile, goes well here and has the assistance of a talented rider in the saddle. Miss Molly Be Rude could do better returned to hurdles with blinkers applied while Murphys Appeal represents powerful connections and should be up to running well off her lowly rating in what is a poor contest.
