In depth

Verdict

There may not be much value to be had with HERNANDO'S BOY, but if he completes he should win, with maybe some each way support for Baskerville and Luzenie. The drop back in trip is a positive, but there may be a concern that he might prefer going right handed. He's won this sort of contest before, and the opposition here isn't that great to say the least, but the odds may be prohibitive. Luzenie is the only one not to have won over this trip, or indeed at all. Pulled up in her last couple of outings, the step back in distance should help. Baskerville has won over hurdles in Ireland and here on the flat, but was well down the field on chase debut last month. Pendle Forest hasn't won for nearly four years, while Peak Seasons was successful at Fakenham last month, but that was the exception rather than the rule. Expect him to go to the front as that worked in Norfolk. It's not a race we'd be lumping on in, but we think Hernando's Boy will take it.
