In depth

Verdict

A very poor race can go to Uneven Line ahead of Kingfisher Sunset, Casalani and High Five. With the delights of Cheltenham to get involved in, this mediocre contest is easy to miss, but something has to win it and we shall side with Uneven Line who at least has a few places to his name. The 10-year-old is still a maiden after 21 career starts, but has more experience than most over fences, and having tired when third over 27 furlongs here last time, he should at least appreciate this slightly less exacting trip. In addition, the Sandy Forster stable is in good form at present, and he should go close. Kingfisher Sunset is woefully one-paced and will do well to get round, but as he is trained by Sue Smith, will no doubt attract some support, while ex-pointer Casalani makes her chase debut after finishing third to the odds-on Dream Alliance in heavy ground at Haydock, so is worth a small mention at least. High Five finished a creditable fourth on his hurdles bow at Haydock when totally unconsidered and should improve in time. Made In Bruere has not been seen since being pulled up on just his second appearance at Huntingdon in November and is best watched, with the vote going to Uneven Line.
