El Dee, Paradise Expected and Verstone form the shortlist here and the vote goes to to Verstone. The selection ran a sound race in defeat when third behind College City at Cartmel last time. She won here last season and she has ground conditions in her favour so she has plenty to recommend her. El Dee disappointed at Aintree last time but that was a better race than this and he should be suited by this drop in trip. Paradise Expected pushed Tashkandi all the way at Uttoxeter last time and a reproduction of that effort should see this filly get competitive. She goes on any ground and she has to enter calculations. Arctic Cove has been disappointing of late and he can't be backed with any confidence at present. All of which returns us to Verstone as the one to beat.
