In depth

Verdict

Bolton Barrie, Bacyan, and Barton Hill look the ones to concentratte on in this competitive novices hurdle and the confident vote goes to Bolton Barrie. The gelding from the bang in form Richard Guest yard was in good form in the early part of the season. He was then brought down and then ran over an inadequate two miles when he was pulled up. He has been freshened up and with conditions back in his favour he will be hard to beat. Bacyan won a bumper in game style at Carlisle and then was a fair fifth on his hurdling debut behind Riothamus. He is sure to have learnt from the experience and has definite place claims. Barton Hill is another worthy of consideration. He was a fair fourth behind Crystal d'Ainay on his last run last season. He will appreciate the step up in trip and if he is fit after his absence he to has place claims. Of the remainder Destino is from a yard in form and is worth noting in the market but we are happy to side with Bolton B Barrie
