Verdict

A high draw is a big advantage in big field sprints at Sandown Park so this may not be as competitive as the numbers suggest and it may pay to stick with those drawn nearer the far side. None is better berthed than Maktavish in stall 15 but Rod Millman's colt needs to improve on the recent evidence of form a good draw may not be enough for him. Topweight Mitcham has been given a break since last seen out and may be in need of the run and, while Tudor Wood has claims, there are others with more solid claims. Mick Channon's Budelli has been in good form of late and his most recent run at York is best ignored as he was racing on the unfavoured stands' side but the one they all have to beat and the TEAMtalk selection is Croeso Croeso. A winner of four of his last five starts John Spearing's sprinter was very impressive at Bath last time and a 9lb rise may not be enough to prevent him winning again.
