In depth

Verdict

A decent looking renewal of this Group 3 event with some high reputations currently held by several rivals likely to be dashed. David Loder's Desert Destiny won what looked a good Newmarket maiden last time and obviously warrants respect but a doubt remains about the form of the stable's horses and a draw in stall two is not ideal. Goodwood winner Wahsheeq lost no caste in defeat in the Acomb at York earlier this month but is again likely to find at least one too good. Dhabyan may not have beaten much when winning at Kempton recently and more solid claims are probably held by John Gosden's Foss Way. The son of Desert Prince still looked green when winning his Goodwood maiden and there could be more to come. However, there will need to be as there was plenty to like about the way Commisssion won on his debut over course and distance. The apple of trainer Gerald Butler's eye, he gets the TEAMtalk vote.
