Verdict

Captain Webb, Cossack Prince and City of the Kings are the three to focus on in this good quality contest, with Captain Webb likely to complete the hat trick. After showing some promise in a Bath maiden, Cossack Prince landed a little Wolverhampton maiden on his final start as a juvenile. He is progressive, but a couple of these hold stronger claims. City of the Kings kept good company in good Newmarket maidens before scoring in his last two starts last season, overcoming traffic problems to score at Chester last time. He has been raised nine pounds for that win however, and may have to settle for a place on his re-appearance. Captain Webb is unbeaten in three starts and looks an exciting type. Mark Johnston made him endure the long trek to Brighton last time, and he made the journey worthwhile with an emphatic 20 length success. The second has since been placed in a handicap so the form could be very good. Captain Webb can weave his way to further success.
