Verdict

Three year olds have held the upper hand in recent years and Triple Aspect is sure to have his supporters but we'll take IALYSOS to bounce back from a below par display whilst the improving Anglezarke could also take a hand. There's certainly a strong case to be made for Triple Aspect as the majority of this field are either exposed performers or struggling to find their form. So, whilst the likes of Duff, Masta Plasta and Judd Street are admirable campaigners they are hard to recommend at this level. Willie Haggas' Danetime colt was very well backed ahead of his reappearance over course and distance and eventually ran out a ready winner in a good time despite jumping the path. He needed rousting along in the early stages of the race to go the pace though and could find trouble if losing his position from a high draw in a bigger field. Anglezarke has improved with every start this season and there's a case for making her the one to beat in this contest as she's well drawn and finished third in the Group 1 King's Stand Stakes behind Scenic Blast. The way that she finished there, and when coming from off a strong pace at York on her reappearance, suggests that she could relish this stiff finish. Sandwiched between those two runs was a defeat behind the selection at Haydock. He got involved in a barging match at midway in the Golden Jubilee, after which he never travelled with any zest, and he was allowed to come home in his own time. That was one of the first times that he's had to race at close quarters given the Greek Freak's superiority in his native land and this will tell us whether the experience has put him off his game or whether he'll return as a more streetwise competitor. He was held up at Haydock and is thought to need six furlongs so there are a couple of other negatives as he could find trouble from his high draw if he's taken off his feet but we'll keep faith in Ialysos.
