Verdict

Dimelight can round off a potentially great day for David Elsworth by landing the concluding event, where Sophie Jo and Follow the Colours rate the main dangers. In a race full of disappointing types, Dimelight shines likes a beacon on a bleak day. The filly has been competing in better class races and has met progressive rivals along the way. Pulled up after the saddle slipped soon after the start at Goodwood, Dimelight was then soundly thrashed by Island Odyssey, who now has a listed race on the agenda. The trip is ideal, any cut in the ground won¿t inconvenience and there appear plenty of pace in the race to enable this hard puller to settle. Sophie Jo makes her handicap debut today but even though her mark of 72 looks lenient, connections was disappointed she never finished closer on her return at Nottingham. Unless the step up in trip and the cut in the ground brings about substantial improvement, she should find Dimelight too strong. Follow the Colours has threatened to win a race all season but always seems to have an excuse. This has to be the final opportunity for John Hills¿ gelding, which was given an awful ride at Chester last time when having a plum draw. He rates a threat on his best form. Apt To Run is a poor maiden, Feu d¿Artifice should find the ground soft enough, while Height Of Fury looks not to have trained on. Dimelight is a confident choice.
