Verdict

Steeve, a winner over 5f here in April, makes a quick reappearance having finished runner-up in a similar race at Chepstow on Friday. Critical Data is one of three Hannon runners but was due to run at Chester yesterday while stablemates Magical Wish and St Ouen are both newcomers with the former preferred. Khafooq is another debutant to note but this looks between the recent winners Buckingham and SUNSPRITE. The first-named won over 6f on the all-weather but that form has taken a knock with both placed horses well beaten subsequently and the latter makes more appeal. Richard Hughes’ colt beat an odds-on favourite to win over the minimum trip at Bath with the rest nowhere and should go close despite a penalty if seeing out this extra furlong.
