In depth

Verdict

This is a trappy maiden to open the card and from a shortlist of Arthur's Girl, Ghaidaa and Quotation we will nominate the last mentioned. Sir Michael Stoute has his string in good order at present and this filly showed plenty of promise on her debut before encountering some trouble in running when last seen out on the racecourse back in October. She looks a progressive type and she will be difficult to beat. Arthur's Girl looks a nice type and she shaped with plenty of pomise on only her second start when she chased home Burn The Breeze at Newbury. She is bred to be suited by further in time but this stiff track will play to her strengths and she has definite claims. Ghaidaa is a half-sister to Oaks winner Eswarah so she is worth a look in the market on her racecourse debut, while Burry Green is another worth a mention as Richard Hannon did win this race last year. A decent contest to get proceedings underway and the vote is given to Quotation.
