In depth

Verdict

Brae Hill is fancied to make a winning debut; possibly at the main expense of Countrywide City and Herring Senior. The last named represents an in-form yard and, as a half-brother to useful 10-furlong horse Zain, he should come into his own over slightly further. Paul Cole has done well with his two-year-olds this season and this fellow is one to seriously monitor in the betting. Countrywide City - a half-sister to the speedy Damalis - is a nicely-bred type and is another to keep tabs on for future reference. However, Peter Chapple-Hyam's youngsters have needed a run so far this term, so he may be best watched on this occasion. Barbee and Elusive Ronnie showed little on their respective debuts, therefore, the vote goes to Brae Hill, who should be suited by the trip and, as Michael Bell is chasing a 100% record with his youngsters this season, he can be expected to be cherry ripe for this introduction. The son of Fath will be the fifth juvenile sent out by the Newmarket handler and he would be dangerous to underestimate while the yard is in such good form.
