A cracking contest with several old suspects on show. King Of Happiness looked one to steer clear of after his performance at Newmarket in the same race as the disappointing Binary File, who should really have done better on favourable terms. Fourth in last years St James Palace Stakes, Dupont is another who has been struggling and it remains to be seen whether the first time visor has the desired effect. However, despite the ground probably being plenty fast enough for him, Bowman gets the nod, even though Passing Glance looks to have the edge on him on the book. The boys in blue wouldn't appear to have had the best of seasons so far with only 11 winners, but they have amassed nearly ¿1,000,000 in win and place money, so they can't have done too bad. Bowman, although 5lbs worse off with Passing Glance on their run at Goodwood, is taken to confirm the form, for that was his first effort since last October and he should be all the sharper here. That was a personal best for Passing Glance, who has graduated from handicap company, but one can't help feeling more will be required here. Lundy's Lane is tough and looks sure to give a good account, but Steenberg looks tripless. Cat Ona High has yet to recapture his useful juvenile form, but Priors Lodge, who has been absent since finishing third in the Group 3 Earl Of Sefton Stakes at the Craven meeting back in April. If stripping fit, he would make them all go, but with no doubts about the well-being of Bowman, he is the choice in a fascinating contest.
