In depth

Verdict

An interesting first division of the maiden but Zap Attack, from the in-form Mick Channon stable gets the vote. A half-brother to the useful Killer Instinct, he showed promise on his debut (the winner won at Ascot on Saturday) and must go close. Foodbroker Founder is knocking at the door and holds Desert Flame (bred to stay a lot further) on their Kempton runs. The expensive Dorothy's Friend showed little on her debut, while Amanda Perrett's newcomer, Melusina, is bred to stay a lot further too. Her stablemate, Humid Climate, is very well bred and worth keeping an eye on his first run. Exzilarating is improving and now steps up in trip. Provided the trip suits, he should make the frame at least.
