In depth

Verdict

A 17-runner, ten-furlong apprentice handicap to close off the card, so the best of luck to you if you are looking to claw back losses on the day. Not a strong race and Mick Channon's in-form stable might score again with Fast Foil, back on a winning mark and with one of the best riders in the contest on board. Splash Out Again is only two pounds higher than a mark he has won from. Exploring is lightly raced and gradually dropping in the weights, although his best effort came on the all-weather last time out. Martin Pipe acquired George Street from John Gosden's yard but he finished tailed off after running well for ten furlongs or so over two miles on his first run for the champion trainer. Ren's Magic has been consistent of late and is entitled to run well off what is, admittedly, a plater's mark. The TEAMtalk selection then is Fast Foil, back on a winning mark.
