In depth

Verdict

Insomnitas should really have won by now but he's gone 23 starts without losing his maiden tag and can hardly be supported despite a good effort at Listowel last time. GAGNANT is another long-time maiden though he produced his best-ever run when a short-head behind Inishtearaght over a mile at Naas a week ago and a repeat effort would be good enough for this despite a 2lbs rise. Secret Hero has yet to show the kind of form he produced in the UK for Richard Hannon though he's slipped to a very fair mark while Blue Laws hasn't won for two years though the fact that he's now on an 18lbs lower mark offers some optimism for connections and he ran well at Down Royal last month. Russian View has been mainly confined to polytrack and has gained his only two victories on the surface.
