In depth

Verdict

Angel Of Joy looked a certain future winner when runner-up on his debut at Gowran but ran very moderately on his next start at Navan. Red All Star made a brave attempt to lead all the way at Fairyhouse and stayed on when passed in the final furlong so he should be competitive, but Abushamah dropped away quickly over 1m1f at Gowran so may prove more effective over the shorter trip. Paddy Mac showed the occasional glimpse of promise last season and will be better for his run at Tipperary in April but another chance is given to ROUSAYAN. Dermot Weld's charge made such a promising debut at Leopardstown in November that he started a short-priced favourite on his return at the Curragh. He disappointed there and didn't appear to stay a mile at Limerick last time but hopefully this can prove within his capabilities.
