In depth

Verdict

Mashaair has been expensive to follow having been a beaten favourite in each of his last three starts but the softer surface and weaker opposition today may well help and the Barry Hills-trained colt is taken to open his account at the main expense of Country Escape and Pab Special. The last mentioned is a long-standing maiden and looks booked for a place at best again, while Kevin Ryan's lightly raced Another Gladiator is bred for fast ground and may find underfoot conditions against him. Abeurbe Condita is difficult to recommend and the main threat looks to come from Chris Wall's Country Escape, who looks to be going the right way but is another bred for fast ground being by Zafonic. There should be no such problems for Mashaair though and he gets the vote to finally open his account.
