Cross My Mind looked a shade unlucky here last time and has to be respected but Granston gained a deserved first success of the season at Thirsk last time, showed that he handles plenty of cut in the ground when second in the Spring Mile and remains well treated off just a 3lb higher mark than at Thirsk so is preferred with Hartshead rated the best of the rest. Hartshead lost no caste in defeat at Ascot last time and has claims on earlier winning form at Catterick and Newcastle but may now be a shade high in the weights. The Barry Hills-trained Fortunate Isle is less exposed than most of these and could be of interest back on a softer surface, while Goodbye Mr Bondwill have no problems with the underfoot conditions but is another that may now be in the grip of the handicapper. That does not look to be a problem with Granston though and he gets the vote.
