In depth

Verdict

A three-year-old filly on a rating of 95 will have to show something early to live up to her billing so, as such, Maganda is given the benefit of the doubt as she makes her first start of the new campaign today. Trullitti and Exclusive Danielle will not make it easy for the daughter of Sadlers Wells though and can be expected to be thereabouts at the finish. Whereas it would also be folly to put a line through Citrine Spirit now that she steps up to a more appropriate trip. The John Gosden-trained daughter of Soviet Star fits the profile of many of her former stablemate and hers is a name to conjure with as the season goes on. However, Maganda - a half-sister to triple Group 1 winner as a three-year-old, Kutub - is expected to enjoy a fruitful campaign this season and looks to have been found a good platform to launch herself from today.
