In depth

Verdict

Tagula Bay is no world-beater but if Tim Easterby's filly is ever going to win a race then this is it and she is taken to finally open her account at the main expense of Holiday Cocktail and California Laws. The last mentioned did not progress as much as expected from his debut effort behind the speedy Neverletme Go at Doncaster and could be of interest. Eric Alston's four-year-old Reverence made a belated debut at Thirsk in May and it is interesting that he has been given time since then. He has to be considered a danger, as does the David Nicholls-trained Artie's Lad on his form of two starts ago. With Jeremy Noseda's stable in such good heart at present, the reappearing Lake Carezza warrants respect, while Carnivore is probably better than his latest start would suggest. Holiday Cocktail showed plenty of promise last time and a market move for him would be of particular interest but Tagula Bay has shown enough to beat these on her best form and she gets the vote.
