Verdict

John Dunlop and Seb Sanders can complete a double on the card here with Alsadeek, while Atlantic Beach is very much respected. Alsadeek showed a fair bit of promise on his first two starts when making the frame on both occasions last summer, before disappointing in a Nottingham maiden last backend. He'd have to have shown a fair bit of speed to be kept to this trip and with a winter break behind him he looks to have a good opportunity to break his duck. Atlantic Beach was thrashed on his seasonal return but should benefit from that run and is related to winners at this age and over this trip, so he can't be ruled out. Bertie Vista has not shown a great deal so far but is from a very capable yard and first-time blinkers are applied so improvement may well be imminent. Tangerine Trees did not get the best of the draw at Thirsk and ran a promising debut nonetheless. Better ground should be a plus where he is concerned and he is another with first-time headgear which may have a positive effect. Even so, Alsadeek gets the nod here.
