Tombi showed promise on his Pontefract debut on a softish surface and should be as effective on today's faster ground as should course and distance runner-up Prince Rossi but Kevin Ryan has done well with his two-year-olds all season and preference is for his representative Gweebarra. The selection's trainer has a line through stablemate Prince Golan to Prince Rossi and it would come as no surprise to see the son of Lomitas make a winning debut.
