    Verdict

Mr Rooney would have claims if fit enough for his reappearance but lack of a recent run would be of concern and preference is for Moorhouse Lad, who gets the vote ahead of Greek Secret. The selection was good value for his win in a Newcastle maiden last time and does not to be harshly treated making his handicap debut off a mark of 82. Admittedly the selection has all of his best form over the minimum trip but there is no reason why he should not be as effective over the extra furlong and the colt has a decent draw. Mr Sandicliffe is also well berthed but the Barry Hills-trained colt took a long time to open his account and does not seem to be the most reliable of performers. Patavium Prince was good value for his win at Salisbury last time and while a 6lb rise might not be enough to stop him from following up, a faster surface may be. Damika now looks to be in the grip of the handicapper, while Ayr winner Rainbow Bay was well held off a similar mark at Hamilton last time and may now be best watched. Greek Secret has solid claims on form but could be better drawn and a safer bet looks to be Moorhouse Lad, who gets the vote.
