Three-year-olds have only won two of the last ten but one was trained by Dandy Nicholls, who has the all-weather winner Kyrenia Castle entered in this lowly grade after two moderate runs in tough handicaps. SALTARELLO landed a course and distance maiden and wasn't beaten far in a handicap at Doncaster so can buck the trend and take this for the younger brigade. His trainer also runs Bold Captain, who is taking a drop in class but may find this on the short side. Mac's Superstar was well beaten in a Leicester claimer last week but would have a favourite's chance on last season's form while Kayo Koko found 1m2f on soft ground too far at Ripon and should do much better here.
