VALLEY OF FIRE made a successful debut at York in 2014 and has been very highly tried subsequently. He returned to the Knavesmire a week ago to run his best race for a long time in a better race than this and a repeat will see him very difficult to beat. Nuno Tristan has won three races on the all-weather, all over 6f, while Beardwood has been running well at this level without quite getting there. Azagal hasn't won since last April but is 9lb lower here while Slemy has three victories to her credit though none at this level.
