In depth

Verdict

Quite a number failed to build on debuts of promise when beaten next time up and it may well be that a fully-exposed sort in MISS MO BROWN BEAR takes advantage in first-time cheekpieces and in receipt of considerable weight from the penalised runners and her male opposition. She has shown consistently solid form in decent company and the additional 7lb claim of the promising Connor Murtagh could prove the decisive factor. Havana Star and Our Kid would have disappointed connections on second starts after making winning debuts but still rate shortlist material. Albert Street was well beaten last time yet still has scope but Stormbringer, a pleasing third on debut behind the useful Another Batt, and Lambourn raider, Global Passion, runner-up at Maisons-Lafitte last time rate contenders of real promise and represent most danger.
