In depth

Verdict

Dai Burchell's Alsyati has been raised 9lbs for winning at Chepstow last month and faces a stiffer task here so is passed over by Tianyi, who gets the verdict over Knockrigg. The last mentioned has found the frame in three of his last four starts and is entitled to be thereabouts again but preference is for Tianyi. Michael Scudamore's gelding disappointed at Exeter last time but the eight-year-old may have needed that outing after a three-month break and is worth another chance on earlier form. Another eight-year-old Isam Top and Ressource, from the stable of Gary Moore, are other consistent performers who are entitled to respect. Martin Pipe's Maidstone Mistral receives weight from all of his rivals and is another worthy of a mention but the vote goes to Tianyi, who has solid claims.
