The most valuable race on the card has attracted a decent entry. Five of the eight runners are previous course winners and Baileys Concerto is looking particularly well handicapped at present though, like Bold Sir Brian, has had a break. Russian Regent is in the veteran stage now but entitled to respect, as is Royale Django, and the penny has dropped with Drumhart. CALL ME VIC (NAP) travelled very strongly last time at Aintree but couldn't pick up in the closing stages. He's 4lb higher now but the slight drop in trip is probably in his favour and he's worth another chance.

Bold Sir Brian (IRE) 3-1 (11-12) In rear and in touch, went 3rd from 4 out, led after last, ridden run-in, kept on and edged right, won at Ayr 2m 5f hcp (4) hvy in Mar beating See Double You (11-7) by 3/4l, 4 ran.
