Verdict

A block entry from Ireland and SYMPHONICA looks the pick to see off Gulf President and Float My Boat. The selection is still a maiden after a number of starts but she has run well on her ventures across the Irish Sea and with her conditional rider claiming 7lb, she is in receipt of lumps of weight all around. Gulf President has been kept ticking over on the flat. He ran badly at Chepstow but it could be worth taking the view that this was simply a bad day at the office. Float My Boat has won a point-to-point so the step up to this trip from bumpers should be beneficial. Be Bapalupa might just need this race having last been seen in a point earlier in the year. Jack Apple finished third in a Down Royal event though seems modest on balance. Osbaldeston attracted some interest ahead of his appearance at Cartmel though the bookmakers were never given a moment's worry once the race began in earnest. A race where the market will tell us plenty but Symphonica can add to Gordon Elliott's impressive tally at this course.
