Verdict

Mickey Croke is selected to beat No Picnic, Caislean Ui Cuain and Billy Two Rivers in what looks a competitive affair. Mickey Croke was hard ridden by Tony Dobbin to score here last time, but should feel more at home over this longer trip, and with conditions in his favour, is taken to follow up. No Picnic returns from a break but showed a consistent level of form in the spring, including when chasing home the potentially top-class Monet's Garden here. He will be placed to good effect in due course, while easy Cartmel winner Caislean Ui Cuain will be a danger if turning out as he was in action here on Wednesday. Billy Two Rivers scored over the course and distance last month but appears to have a bit more on his plate against this opposition, and with Nigel Twiston-Davies having won this last year, Bobby Dazzler should not be ruled out despite his penalty. All in all, a tricky contest in which Mickey Croke is the pick.
