In depth

Verdict

At this stage of the season two-year-old maidens can be very tricky, and this race is no exception, so a tentative vote is given to Verkhotina, with Incheni, and fellow newcomer Nadayem worth a look in the betting market. Roger Charlton's juveniles often need a couple of runs to find their feet, and Verkhotina has contested two hot races at Folkestone, and more recently at Newbury, when she ran a cracker to finish fifth to Oriental Warrior. Experience will count for a lot here, however there are some interesting debutants. Geoff Wragg often sends out some decent two-year-olds in the closing months of the season so the well bred Incheni has to be respected, along with Ben Hanbury's Nadayem, a daughter of Gulch who was also entered for a much better contest at Newmarket later this week. On this occasion though we'll stick with experience and look to Verkhotina to make it third time lucky, with Incheni and Nadayem expected to come out best of the rest
